Installation Dashboard Widget
Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger is required. If you’re using Safari, click the download link. When the widget download is complete, show Dashboard, click the Plus sign to display the Widget Bar and click the widget’s icon in the Widget Bar to open it. If you’re using a browser other than Safari, click the download link. When the widget download is complete, unarchive it and place it in /Library/Widgets/ in your home folder, show Dashboard, click the Plus sign to display the Widget Bar and click the widget’s icon in the Widget Bar to open it.
For Tiger Version 10.4.1 or earlier: Before downloading an update, you should remove the existing widget from the /Library/Widgets/ (in your home folder) folder. Otherwise the downloaded widget won't be put in the widget folder automatically.
After installation, multiple "Aviation Weather" widgets can be placed on the dashboard in order to show different weather stations at the same time.
Installation Yahoo! Widgets
If not already done so, you need to install Yahoo! Widgets (available for PC/Windows and Mac OS X) first (at widget.yahoo.com). Make sure you're using the latest Yahoo! Widgets version (at least 4.0.3). Remove widget versions 1.2.1 or older first.
On a PC, put the widget in the folder "My Documents\My Widgets" (or anywhere else you like) and double-click it to run it.

FAQ
How can I display more than four presets? (Dashboard widget on Mac only)
- Uncheck the option "Keep prefs when removing widget" and just create another widget instance (by clicking on the blue Aviation Weather icon). Then you can set another four presets.
Can I toggle between raw and translated format?
- Yes. When using the translated mode just hold the "shift" key when clicking to
toggle between METAR and TAF. It'll show you the raw format. - You can also do it the opposite way; when using raw mode (in order to see quickly translated METAR/TAF). However, this doesn't work when all four presets are shown (window would become to big).
The widget gets stuck. I have to restart Mac to make it work again.
- Instead of rebooting your Mac simply press Cmd-R on the widget (works for all widget) to reset it. If possible; open the Console Application (within Apps / Utlilities folder), search for aviation weather and mail me any available error messages.
I typed in a valid ICAO code, but the widget doesn't accept it.
- There might be some airports missing in the internal database. Just mail me the station and I'll include it in the next update.
